Packing tips
April in San Pancho is typically sunny with highs in the mid-80s and lows in the low-70s. Here are some recommendations:
light weight clothes, the town’s vibe is relaxed and hippie so anything goes
long sleeves or scarf for evenings
athletic wear, we’re going to get sweaty
something that feels fun for going out for dinner (no need for formal)
swimming gear: bathing suit, beach towel
sun protection: sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, sun shirt
footwear: sneakers and comfortable sandals. Think about shoes that you’d wear to walk on cobblestone, do light weight lifting / squats, do a spin (for salsa dancing), and walk on a flat hiking path. Locals to all these things in flip flops / bare feet, so no need for anything super technical or formal. Follow your foot needs!
novel, journal, sketchbook
water bottle
debit card. San Pancho is primarily a cash economy and there are ATMs in town which have good exchange rates. Some business have started accepting credit cards, so you can bring a credit card, too.
medications and toiletries
Ground transportation
Transport from the airport to the hotel is not included. We can book a private driver for you, or offer travel tips for Uber and bus options. Options include:
Private driver, about $150-$180 USD round trip
Uber driver, $70-$130 USD round trip, depending on style of car you choose
Bus, about $7 USD round trip, plus a 15 minute walk
Start and end times
The retreat starts at 5 pm on Wednesday and ends on Monday after breakfast at 10 am, so we recommend that you arrive at PVR at 1 pm or earlier if your flight is on Wednesday and plan your departure flight from 3 pm on Monday. If that timing isn’t possible, just let us know.
Travel documents and insurance
Bring your passport, valid for at least 6 months. International health insurance and travel insurance are both recommended any time you travel.
